Dr. Saxonhouse is an Associate Professor in the Division of Neonatology at Levine Children’s Hospital, Atrium Healthcare, Wake Forest School of Medicine. He is currently the co-director of the Neonatal Thrombosis Center at Levine Children’s Hospital. The center is currently an active participant in the Apixaban Neonatal Cohort trial. Dr. Saxonhouse is also a part of the FNAIT International Registry. He is also the Medical Director for the PCVC team in the NICU. Dr. Saxonhouse also serves as Associate Director for Specialty Review in Perinatology 2.0. Dr. Saxonhouse’s research focus during his fellowship and faculty tenure at the University of Florida was neonatal thrombocytopenia, neonatal platelet function and neonatal coagulation. After he transitioned to Charlotte, Dr. Saxonhouse was an active participant in the hemorrhagic risk assessment in thrombocytopenia study: Neo-Hat Study and antibiotic safety in infants with complicated intra-abdominal infections. He is an active member of the promotions committee, Scientific Review Committee, and he is the Co-Director of the Thomas Kueser Neonatology Symposium. 

He is the father of two teenage girls and has been happily married to his wife of 22-years who is an invasive cardiac electrophysiologist.
