Dr. Weiss is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at the University of Florida. He is the Medical Director for the Hypothermia Program at the University of Florida. He has an interest in neonatal neurology and has actively performed research in this area, both basic science and clinical, for the past 20 years. His research interest include new imaging modalities, biomarkers for predicting outcomes in neonates with HIE and adjunct neuroprotective therapies for neonates with HIE. He is passionate about improving outcomes in neonates with brain injuries and formed the Florida Neonatal Neurologic Network to improve the outcome of neonates with brain injuries throughout the State of Florida. He is a member of the Newborn Brain Society and the co-chair of the Education Committee.
