Ashley Caraway, MSN, NNP-BC, APRN is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in Houston, Texas.
Ashley attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2006. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She attended The University of Texas Medical Branch, where she received her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner tract in 2010. She started her career as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School in 2011 and joined Pediatrix Medical Group of Northwest Houston in 2015. In addition to clinical work, she is the practice IT and technology leader. Ashley’s clinical interests include mother’s own breastmilk use in the NICU to discharge, safe sleep practices, and healthcare access for underprivileged and indigent populations.
In 2020 Ashley was responsible for forming the non-profit, VaccinateUS. VaccinateUS was established to provide both medical and non-medical volunteers for various sites providing Covid-19 vaccines to the community, and to provide vaccine education and access to medically underserved populations. Through this effort, VaccinateUS was able to work with local pharmacies, government agencies, healthcare clinics, and hospital systems locally to establish and staff mass vaccination clinics for Covid-19 vaccinations. Additionally, she worked with many different community and church organizations to identify those at highest risk of severe Covid disease and provide vaccine access to those at highest risk.
She is married, and a mother to a son born in 2010. She grew up in Europe and Southeast Asia, and attributes her love of travel and immersing herself in other cultures to this experience.
